HorCast #22 - Super-Sized HorCast

So, you were wondering why this weeks show was late? Here’s your answer - almost a full hour of bland, uninspired discussion about comic books and the media! Here’s a brief rundown of what we moan on about…

- no podcasts in main iTunes library
- bumping into Dale Eaglesham
- Eisner inkwash on newest ‘Adventures of Superman’ issue
- Defining the term ‘CARTOONIST’
- film vs. theatre acting
- ‘Pamplemousse’ by Genevieve Castree
- Montreal ‘zine library
- interpretive drawing: ‘SEX’
- Matt C. Dvorak gets no spam
- an audio question for HORHAUS
- Karl’s sexiness and animating MIKI
- comics shipping late
- jam comics
- Ojingogo’s schedule
- Matt’s Flight submission
- Art for love, not money
- Errol Morris
- ‘Sex and the City’
- ‘Rome’
- the pleasure of TV is the lack of commitment
- cultural shift toward shorter stories
- shitty movies

Sorry about the quality of the audio. I take comfort in the knowledge that it can’t get much worse.

A Day Late, A Dollar Short

Yes, I’m poor and I have no HorCast for you today. Not for lack of trying, on either count. What you’ve got awaiting you tomorrow, oh faithful listeners, is an epic of unrivalled proportion! I won’t spoil it by showing my hand prematurely but I will say that this episode will keep me editting all night.

See you tomorrow!

Horhaus Sketch Sessions #4

StormSketch.jpgTo the rescue!! Rather than weep at the tardiness of the latest HorCast, bide your time with another ripe entry to the Horhaus Sketch Sessions! Kalman sits in artists alley, at Wizard World Chicago, tackling the 80’s, punk inspired Storm in this episode. Sassy, tasteless commentary, courtesy of the artist and myself!

Guess what? That’s right - no HorCast today…

Sorry folks. I hope to have it up for you tomorrow.

In the meantime, hop on over to Warren Ellis’ new forum, THE ENGINE, and tell them what you think about the HorCast in the currently active ‘Podcastery’ thread.

We won’t hold it against you.

Silver Bullet Comics Hosts the HorCast

The fine folks over at SILVER BULLET COMICS have pinned on a red cape, swooped down from the clouds and saved our butts from the evil of maxed out bandwidth by hosting the HorCast on their site! Now, don’t get your panties in a knot. You’ll still be able to find your favorite half hour of geeked out nonsense here, at the ‘haus, every Monday. SILVER BULLET COMICS will be the shows second home - its apartment in the city, where, at times it might throw parties or have some fun with its mistress.

Ahem…

They’ll be mirroring the audio and video files to alleviate some of the strain the show has been putting on our web-host. As an added bonus, we’re going to make an effort in the future to coordinate a portion of the shows with articles and interviews that Jonathon and his crack team of journalistic commandos are tirelessly hunting down and assembling for SILVER BULLET. This may put a cramp in our last-minute-recording style of podcasting. It might even mean that we have to start taking the show seriously.

HorCast #17 - Flight Colour and Frank Quitely Duel

CNExpo-044_1.jpgIt had just been a very long weekend. I had a couple of primo podcasts in the can, recorded during the Toronto Comic Book Expo. Then I found out I had to wait a smidge before I could publish them. Is smidge a word? I shouldn’t be allowed to type this late. In any case, my solution was to drag Karl and Matt out for a coffee, expecting that the conversation would eventually turn from politics, poker and women into something resembling intelligent conversation about comic books. Little did I know that it would ALL be about comic books.

More to come in the week…
