The Attack of the Show segment featuring Johnny, Drawn!, and my comic, Ojingogo has been posted on G4’s website.

I knew these comics looked familiar.

Mr Death

Karl and I just watched the documentary, Mr Death, by Errol Morris. A very weak film but I had fun doing this caricature of the main character.

Cover me badd

Presenting the cover to Action Comics #835, my first for DC, and coincidentally John Byrne and Gail Simone’s last issue on the title.

This image seems to be popping up everywhere, sitting atop numerous messageboard shitstorms, which is a greenlight for posting as far as I’m concerned.

Additions: You can find it in Covers, also uploaded D20 Cyberscape front and back cover art to the D20 section. Maybe this deserves more fanfare than this, I dunno — Dave Johnson’s moved on, so the new D20 cover artist is me me me.

Found this little gem on the back of a flyer for a local Honkytonk Blues night…

Get ‘em while they’re hot

So Vengeance of the Mummy #1 went on sale last Wednesday.

Yeah yeah, I know that was a week and a half ago but I’ve been under it, aight?? Some of you have been asking me to let you know when it’s out.

So this is it: it’s out.

All-Star Byrne-Out

You know, I grew up loving John Byrne’s work and I still have the utmost respect for him, but his message boards make me want to cry.

Read some excerpts from the illiterate masses if your soul can bear the stress.

Phoned In

I like doing interviews, mostly because I usually surprise myself while I’m answering questions. A lot goes through my head while I’m sitting at the table by myself all day, and most of it I forget about , but sometimes questions come up in an interview that force me to revisit old thoughts or themes and it’s the first time I hear my own opinions out loud. So it’s a bit like therapy, in a way. :)
Especially these last couple; I did phone interviews rather than the more common internet e-mail write-ups because I wanted to have a more free-form conversation with the interviewers and not nitpick over my own words. For the most part, it worked out quite well - certainly more crude than the usual polished Q&A (especially when you throw in some dodgy transcribing) but on the whole a lot more fun and less pedantic.
