Okay. I ‘ve gotten a whole bunch of e-mails in the last few days from people who are interested in buying pages from Flash #3. I only kept a couple of them and the rest were divided up among the art team, but if you’d like to own one of the pages, the best way to get one is to attend the Toronto Comic Book Expo on the weekend of September 1-3.
I won’t be attending this year because I’m nowhere near Toronto at the moment, but inker Serge LaPointe and colourist Stephane Peru will be there, and they’ll have most of the original pages with them, as well as copies of the book for sale.
If you can’t make it to the show, contact me again and I’ll see what I can do.

Flash Animation

Issue 3 of Flash: Fastest Man Alive hit the shelves yesterday, and it was a bit of an experiment. We were trying to achieve a look akin to animation in terms of the simplicity of the line art and the use of colour to separate the foreground and background objects. Not to everyone’s taste, certainly, but it’s something I’ve always wanted to try.

We knew from the get-go that readers of the book would either love it or hate it, and that seems to be the concensus on the message boards, from what I’ve seen so far. I’m interested in hearing what people have to say about it, because it’s an approach we plan to use on our next project, and I’d like to refine it a bit.

The Commish

Let me just squeeze in a little post here, amid all the excitement…

I’m currently ‘on the road’, as they say, living in Newfoundland for the next month or so and I finally had time to sit down and finish all of the commissions I’ve had backlogged for the last few months. I feel so much lighter now! Profuse, ashamed, grovelling apologies to all the folks who have been waiting so patiently.

This one was a request for a cat design, based on something the buyer saw in one of my Dragon Magazine illustrations; it was great fun to do. The others are all posted in my gallery.
I’m putting a temporary hold on commission requests, but I’ll post here again when they’re available.
