A Hundred Barry Allen Fans Can’t Be Wrong

Can they?

There’s a new interview up on The Pulse in which I discuss my work on Superman Returns and The Flash. I say ‘new’, but I think I actually answered the interview questions a couple of months ago, so it’s nothing new if you’ve listened to any of the recent podcasts.
The highlight, in case you don’t want to bother with reading it all, is this:

THE PULSE: What do you think of this version of the Scarlet Speedster?

KERSCHL: I was doubtful, until I was told about Barry’s return at the end of issue 6 …

I’m kidding.

I’m going to get flamed by a hundred Barry Allen fans now. Seriously, though, I think Bart has potential. He’s coming from a completely different place, he’s just aged four years, he’s alienated, awkward and scared. I think there’s a lot of good character stuff to mine there. I hope people give him a chance.

Now, I’m not going to go into the details of the humour here, but I thought it was pretty funny. And sure enough… backlash on the DC message boards!

The thread title is Karl Kerschl mocks hopeful Barry Allen fans! . It marks the first time (to my knowledge) that I’ve been flipped the virtual bird. Need I say more?

No such thing as bad press…

That was pretty funny, but even funnier is how right you were about getting flamed, THAT’s funny

Geez… people can’t take jokes. Kudos on that issue of the Flash!
