This is a job for…Wonder Girl?

I thought I’d share this as an intersting tidbit.
I did a two-page Teen Titans origin story in the latest issue of 52 (issue 47), and there was a change on one of the pages. Superboy had to be removed from the Young Justice scene for legal reasons (DC is in a rights dispute with the creators of the character) and in this case the most elegant solution was to replace him with a similar shot of Wonder Girl. It worked out fine, but I thought I’d post this for anyone wondering where the heck Superboy was in the pages of history.
He was there! We all saw him!

Hi there! I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed your rendition of the Teen Titans in “52″ issue 47. Nicely done! I look forward to the “Year One” issue.

I love the Monorail Cat, too. I love cats, so it made me giggle.

Your work on the origin was fantastic Karl, cant wait for TT: Year One.

This is the first confirmation I read that the dispute the Siegel won over DC Comics, about the copyrights of Superboy, forced DC to avoid the use of the character.
I’m pretty sure that ever since the result of that trial, DC has denied that it forced them not to use Superboy anymore, which many alluded as the main reason for the character to be killed on Infinite Crisis.

I did liked the 2 page origin, but I’m not sure that a comicbook should include such a dramatic change in styles from one page to the next, even if is just a 2 pages insert.

I loved the two page origin sequence! I wish it had some fab five love in it though. But the art and coloring were great. And I just love that final team shot!

The lost Superboy panel is a treat! thanks for sharing, Karl!

What’s with all the little critisims? It’s Kerschl, just be happy you got two pages!!! Since the Adv of Superman run, we’ve only got 2 full interior books and a handful of covers. As the Kerschl gets better, he gets more elusive. Let’s hope he doesn’t become a Bolland (4 covers a year)!!

Thanks for sharing this. I haven’t read 52 #47 yet, but the art in that panel looks great. I dig the animated look your art’s had since the Flash fill-in you did last year. I’m really looking forward to seeing more of it in your Teen Titans mini.

Esteban - I’m fairly certain that the only thing DC has denied is that the rights dispute was the reason Conner died.

hey - are the full teen titans books on shelves yet. i’ve tried looking for them, but no luck at my local comix store. will we get an announcement here when they’re out?

Yeah, Hey. My name is Jon Rosaler. I happend to be a big fan of The Clone for years. I do find it hard to believe why DC can’t come an agreement with the Seigel Airs. Maybe they’ve tried, but nothing prevailed. Even though Superboy has not appeared at all in the Young Justice panel of the Origin, but he did appear in the teen titan panel. However, his face was not scene.

Another thing I’m issuing is what will become of Superboy in the Superman/Doomsday movie? Will they edit the reign of the Supermen saga in the movie so fans won’t be completily upset that Superboy won’t be in it? Conner Kent & Kon-EL is still under DC Comics trademark name, but they don’t want us fans to know that. They want us to think that there is no way in Hell that Kon-El will come back in any incarnation. I strongly disagree. DC comics will find a loophole to bring The Boy of Steel back!

The superman/doomsday movie (I assume you mean the straight to dvd animated movie) is going to be like eightie minutes long, even if there wasn’t any legal problems they would probabbly not do the reign of the superman part and just do the death and return because of time constraints.
