Silencio

Sometimes I work in front of the television, on the couch, and if I have a movie on and there are interesting-looking characters on the screen I sketch on the back of my page. Last night I finally got around to watching Mulholland Drive.
Hopefully, Superman won't object...

so? what did you think of mulholland drive?

Parts of it I loved, and other parts I found a little flat - I actually became less interested toward the end when the 'story' took over.
But I wanted to feel that old familiar creepy, dream-like. surreal feeling that I got from Twin Peaks or Eraserhead, and I did for the most part. It makes me want to check out Lost Highway, which is another one I've been meaning to see for years.

Grade: 4 Stars out of 5

i never watched twin peaks and i never understood the appeal, until mulholland drive.

there's this excellent new yorker article chronicles the development of the film, which was originally meant for tv:

Lost Highway is as creepy and surreal as it gets (in parts anyway), my favorite scene is when Loggia's character beats the snot out of a guy who tailgates him....talk about living vicariously through someone else's actions!!
